Chetek ATV Cruzers, Official Minutes, August 15, 2010

John Pierce held the meeting in place of Mike Schmidt.
The Secretary’s report was read by Chris Muhonen, in place of Betty Horton.  Chuck Beckman made a motion to accept the report & Wayne Muhonen seconded it.

Duane Horton read the treasurers report with an income of $$3,578.50, & expenses of $1,873.90.  A motion was made by Al Matson to accept the report & seconded by Sheila Wells.

John Pierce reported that the club could select a two mile section of county A, for the Adopt the Highway program.  It was approved by the club, and John will get us signed up to keep this section of county A cleaned up.

Rice Lake trail update is:  we still have to play the waiting game. If we are not able to get the trail done in time for us to use the grant money, then Dave Moin will try to get us an extension from the state.

Dallas trail is good to go, we can start cutting trees, we need able bodies with chain saws & muscle.  It was voted on to wait until Sept. to start the project, until the weather cools down.  We will be able to use the Prairie Lake town hall area for unloading & parking, Duane will be putting up signs to designate the area.
We won’t be getting quite as much grant money for the Dallas trail as was previously reported, because we lost some private property for trails, so now there will be road route than we had planned.

The DNR said no to putting a route in from Cameron to the Wolf’s Den, because it is too much road route, so we will keep working on getting more private property.
The Caddy Shack & the Wolf’s Den both donated $250 to help in our club expenses.

The Mayor of Cameron mentioned that there are some routes in Cameron that are not signed yet & he would like a cost of how much it would be, then he will bring it up to the village to get the signs paid for. Our club will pay for the signs going from Cameron to the Rice Lake trail.  It may be approx. $200.

Duane had an example of a banner for the club to use on parade floats or booths, Wayne Muhonen made a motion to order two banners for $70 each, and Joe Wagner seconded it.  The banners will be 3 ft. by 8 ft.

A motion was made by Chuck Beckman for the club to give Duane a $100 towards his gas & supplies for putting up signs & planning out routes, Dave Faber seconded it.

The old county maps are now all replaced with new  maps, they are all out, at all locations.

We had two new families sign up as members at the meeting. Welcome them to the club when you see them.
Bruce & Leslie Cochran, Cameron.   Joan Davidson, Chetek.
For any new members that don’t already know, our website is www.chetekatvcruzers.org.  And there is a lot of good info on the WATVA website www.watva.org, of local events.

Bill Wells is organizing a club ride on Saturday, Sept. 11th.  We will be meeting in Cameron, at Roushe’s Sports bar,  leaving the parking lot promptly at 9 am., and going to Turtle Lake.  We will be stopping for lunch, maybe in Poskin, Bill will be taking a head count so he can let the bar know how many are coming.  He will get out an email with more details when it gets closer to the date.

See you at the next meeting, always the 3rd Sunday of the month, Sept. 19th, at 6 pm at the Chetek bowling alley.

Replacement secretary,
Chris Muhonen
